What decides Opal price
Opal is priced per ratti, and value follows the play-of-colour above everything else: how bright the flashes are, how much of the stone they cover, and which colours appear (red and orange fire is rarest and dearest, blue and green most common). After that come body tone, transparency, size and whether the piece is a solid natural opal or an assembled doublet or triplet. Every listing here states which it is.
