Green Onyx
About green onyx
Green Onyx is a natural banded chalcedony in a rich, even green, valued for its calm colour and excellent polish. In Vedic practice it is used as an affordable stone for Budh (Mercury), an alternative to Emerald (Panna), and is associated with focus, composure and steady nerves. Every piece here is natural, certified and priced per ratti.
Why Green Onyx
A good certified Panna is one of the more expensive stones in the Navratna. Green Onyx gives a Mercury-associated green stone at a small fraction of the cost, in larger sizes than an emerald budget would allow — which is why it is widely used in rings, bracelets and malas.
Green Onyx FAQ
Answers to the questions our customers ask us most
Is Green Onyx dyed?
Much of the green onyx on the market is colour-treated chalcedony, which is normal and accepted in the trade. What matters is that it is disclosed — every listing here states the treatment from its laboratory report.
How many ratti should I wear?
As a substitute stone it is worn heavier, commonly 6 to 12 ratti, subject to your astrologer's reading.
