Citrine Stone
About citrine stone
Citrine (Sunela or Sunehla) is the best known substitute for Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) and is worn for Guru (Jupiter). A natural yellow quartz ranging from pale lemon to warm honey, it is traditionally worn on the index finger in gold or panchdhatu and is associated with learning, growth and steady finances. Every Citrine here is 100% natural, certified and priced per ratti.
Why Citrine instead of Pukhraj
A fine Ceylon Pukhraj is one of the more expensive Navratna stones. Sunela is a recognised upratna for Jupiter and costs a small fraction of it, which makes it the usual starting point for students, first-time wearers and anyone advised to strengthen Guru without a large outlay.
Citrine FAQ
Answers to the questions our customers ask us most
How many ratti Citrine should I wear?
As a substitute stone, Citrine is worn heavier than Pukhraj — commonly 6 to 12 ratti for adults, subject to your astrologer's reading.
Is Citrine the same as yellow topaz?
No. Citrine is a quartz and topaz is a separate mineral, though the trade often sells citrine loosely as topaz. Both are accepted Jupiter substitutes, but they are not the same stone — the certificate on every listing states the species.
Which day, finger and metal?
Traditionally set in gold or panchdhatu and worn on the index finger of the working hand, first worn on a Thursday morning after energising.
